Spring & Your Self-Care Wave ~

Spring has arrived!
This wave was created for you to read, dive into, and move through the months of September and October in the Southern Hemisphere, and March and April in the Northern Hemisphere.

In this self-care wave, we will explore the energy of Spring, the Sacral Chakra and the Solar Plexus Chakra, the Doshas, the emotions of the season, as well as the Waxing Moon and the Follicular Phase.

Ready to dive into your self-care for this season? Let’s begin!

The Energy of Spring

The first day of September (S.H) or March (N.H) and we’re already thinking about Spring? Isn’t it only around the 20th?

In Eastern traditions, the energy of the season and its care begin a little earlier, and it’s almost as if the “official date” is actually the peak of that season’s energy. It begins gently beforehand… and slowly fades away.

So in early September (S.H) or March (N.H), we are already beginning to feel the energy of Spring… and caring for yourself in alignment with this season is already welcome.

But what does Spring ask of us, and how does it support us?

It arrives mainly to set things in motion and open new paths. This means moving out of stagnation and beginning to give shape to what is emerging: ideas, desires, changes, directions.

It’s a gentle (and blossoming) invitation to open yourself to the new… but with awareness.
Because this expansion also asks for presence and calm, so you don’t lose yourself in excess.

Spring doesn’t ask you to do everything at once… only that you begin… in your own time.

The Energy of the Doshas and Spring

In Spring, the dosha we need to pay the most attention to is Kapha.

Kapha energy can become aggravated during Spring, so if this is your Ayurvedic profile or if you are experiencing a Kapha imbalance, it calls for extra awareness and care.

When these energies are in balance, they bring a beautiful sense of lightness, emotional stability, nourishment, consistency, and a strong foundation to support what is beginning to grow.

But when they are out of balance, they may bring a sense of heaviness, difficulty starting, attachment to what feels familiar, lack of motivation, excessive sleep, accumulation in the body, fluid retention, slower digestion, and a certain resistance to change.

The key is not letting Kapha’s energy turn into stagnation. That’s why Spring is a more active invitation to bring into your daily life: more movement, more lightness, more stimulation
more circulation and renewal… one step at a time! 🙂

The Energy of the Chakras and Spring

Spring carries the ideal energy and connection for us to care for two chakras in particular: the Sacral and the Solar Plexus.

In the monthly self-care waves, we usually focus on the first month and the beginning of Spring through the Sacral Chakra, and the second month and the end of Spring through the Solar Plexus Chakra. Shall we explore each of them a little? 🙂

The Sacral Chakra and the Beginning of Spring ~

The sacral chakra is connected to creativity, pleasure, emotional expression, and movement… it’s that energy that begins to flow again after a more inward period. And Spring… is the season when nature begins to awaken and bloom.

So they connect through this natural call to feel again, open up, and allow life to move through you once more.

It’s a beautiful time to reconnect with what brings you pleasure, explore new ideas, allow yourself to experiment, create, and feel more.

Imbalances in the sacral energy may show up as: difficulty feeling pleasure, creative blocks, guilt when allowing yourself to rest or enjoy, emotional ups and downs, emotional dependency, disconnection from the body, tension in the lower abdomen or hips, low libido or unregulated excess.

If you notice these imbalances during this phase (or any other), know that they often come from emotional blocks, rigidity, or difficulty allowing yourself to flow.

Especially during this phase, when energy is rising… if you’re still moving at the pace of the previous season and don’t step into this flow (even gently), you may experience some discomfort. Because there can be a friction between energies.

That’s why your best self-care now is to allow yourself to feel more, move your body, explore the new with lightness, reconnect with your body and your pleasure with responsibility, but without guilt.

Because the flow you’re seeking in this moment comes from being open to what you allow yourself to live and feel. Let yourself flow! 🙂

The Solar Plexus Chakra and the End of Spring ~

The Solar Plexus chakra is the third chakra, located in the abdominal area, and it is connected to action, direction, autonomy, and personal power. It’s what helps you move beyond ideas… and begin to choose your path with more clarity and confidence.

If at the beginning of Spring, the Sacral Chakra invited you to feel, explore, and allow your energy to flow again, the Solar Plexus calls you into direction and conscious action.

This is the moment when what has started to emergeneeds to take shape.
A time to choose more clearly what stays and what no longer feels aligned to carry forward.

This chakra is also connected to self-esteem, decision-making, the ability to sustain your choices, and trust in yourself. So this is also a moment to take responsibility for your life, step out of constant doubt, and begin to show up with more truth.

If this chakra is out of balance, this phase may bring: insecurity, difficulty making decisions, fear of making mistakes, a need for approval, feelings of not being capable, procrastination, or the opposite… excessive control, irritation, impatience, and the need for everything to go exactly as planned.

It’s important to remember (and feel) that not every doubt you experience at the end of Spring is a problem. It may simply be your process of finding direction (unfolding in your own time)… and that’s okay. The imbalance happens when you freeze or try to control everything instead of moving with awareness (and at your own pace, even if very slowly).

The end of Spring and the Solar Plexus Chakra invite you to find balance between feeling and acting, between flowing and directing, between trusting the process and owning your choices.

It’s about looking at everything that has begun to emerge… and choosing, with presence, what you truly want to cultivate. With lightness… but also with courage.

Take a deep breath, trust yourself, and move in your own time.

Emotions and Spring

The emotions of Spring are deeply connected to the energies of the season, the doshas, and the chakras. Each of them carries a predominant emotion that may move through your emotional field more intensely during this time. Let’s explore each one together.

Starting with a brief overview of what’s ahead: Spring’s energy is connected to Anger, Kapha in Spring can be linked to Attachment/Inertia, the Sacral Chakra relates to Guilt, and the Solar Plexus Chakra to Shame.

Anger and Spring ~

Anger in Spring is connected to the need for movement and expression. Traditional Chinese Medicine links Spring to the Liver and Gallbladder, organs responsible for the flow of energy and decision-making. The liver can “store” this anger, and in Spring there is a natural energy that supports its movement, but this doesn’t always happen smoothly… because it often requires facing what has been held back, repressed, or avoided… which can be uncomfortable.

This anger may show up as irritation, impatience, or frustration… and it doesn’t need to be suppressed, but rather directed. When you allow it to move with awareness, it can transform into action, clarity, and direction. If you feel it, notice what within you is asking to move… and what the most conscious (and aligned) direction might be.

Attachment/Inertia and Kapha in Spring ~

Attachment or Inertia in Spring, coming from excess Kapha, often appears as difficulty moving forward. It may show up as procrastination, lack of motivation, attachment to comfort, difficulty starting, or a sense of heaviness in your body and mind.

This happens because Kapha governs structure, stability, and retention. When it accumulates too much… everything tends to slow down. And in Spring, when energy is asking for movement, this excess can create an internal conflict between wanting to move forward and not being able to.

When you begin to move (physically and mentally), even just a little, this energy transforms into consistency, support, emotional stability, and the strength to continue what you’ve started. What small step could gently help you move out of this place today?

Guilt and the Sacral Chakra in Spring ~

Guilt is the emotion that most disrupts the Sacral Chakra, and in Spring, when life begins to bloom and energy asks for more pleasure, expression, and movement… it may appear as a block to allowing yourself to feel, rest, enjoy, or simply be… or as an excess in these areas when energy overflows without awareness or responsibility.

Guilt often arises from old patterns, external expectations, or the feeling that you “should be doing more (or less) or being different.” And this interrupts the natural, balanced flow of your energy.

In this moment, guilt becomes an invitation to reconnect with your pleasure without judgment (but with responsibility), through your body and through lightness. When balanced, this chakra transforms guilt into permission, emotional flow, creativity, and connection with your true essence. Allow yourself to feel… within yourself and in the world (while respecting your own limits and those of others).

Shame and the Solar Plexus Chakra at the End of Spring ~

After moving through feeling, movement, and pleasure, shame may arise when it’s time to take a stand, recognize your actions, choose, and act. The energy of the Solar Plexus Chakra flows more strongly at the end of Spring, in October in the Southern Hemisphere and April in the Northern Hemisphere.

After you’ve explored, felt, and allowed new possibilities, there comes a point where you need to own your choices… and this can bring fear of judgment, insecurity, a sense of having gone too far, or of not being enough.

Shame is the emotion that most disrupts the Solar Plexus Chakra and may lead to self-sabotage, paralysis, a need for approval, or difficulty expressing yourself.

At the end of Spring, don’t try to hide or make yourself smallerallow yourself to exist more truthfully, and to take responsibility for your choices (or to seek your truth and make amends if you’ve crossed your own or someone else’s boundaries).

Because when you show up, even with fear… you begin to build your own direction, and to learn about yourself through each choice.

Take a deep breath… let this energy move through you… and keep going.

The Follicular Phase and Spring

(feel free to skip this part if you don’t menstruate… 😉

Spring amplifies the energy of the Follicular Phase, so if there is any imbalance, you may feel more intensely some of the aspects of this phase, such as: impatience, restlessness, a faster-moving mind, the urge to do many things at once, or frustration from not being able to keep up with this rhythm.

At the same time, you may feel a stronger desire to begin, explore, change, and move forward… but also difficulty sustaining or choosing a clear path.

Try to see and hold all of this in a positive way, because these are signs that your energy is rising again, reorganizing itself, seeking direction, and showing you when you are either too still or pushing beyond your limits.

Take a breath, observe, and start with what makes sense right now, without needing to do everything. Move, explore… and allow this phase to unfold naturally, letting your ideas mature, take shape, and integrate… until you move into the next phase of your cycle with more clarity and rhythm.

And remember, if at any moment you are experiencing your follicular phase together with the waxing moon and Spring… this expansive energy may feel even stronger.

Use this energy in your favor to begin, create, experiment, and open yourself to the new.
If it feels like too much, ask yourself what truly makes sense to start now—and in what order.

Take another breath, allow this energy to flow gently, and move forward at the pace that feels right for you… one step at a time.

The Waxing Moon and Spring

For those who do not menstruate (by choice, nature, or other reasons), the Moon becomes your cyclical guide in the sky. And the Waxing Phase is the one whose energy is most connected to the themes of Spring and the Follicular Phase.

I find it very interesting to notice, when talking to people in the opposite hemisphere, that while the main themes of life at that moment may be different (since the seasons are reversed), some sensations, emotions, and inner experiences remain the same depending on the phase of the moon. We are all connected through it, up there in the sky, influencing all of us, no matter where you are.

So, the Waxing Moons of Spring are even more powerful and are ideal moments to begin, move forward, and give shape to the intentions of this self-care wave. It is a phase that supports new beginnings, gentle decisions, small steps, and everything you wish to see grow.

If there is any idea, desire, or direction you feel called to explore, this is a beautiful time to begin.

In your calendar, look for the Waxing Moons between August and October in the Southern Hemisphere and between February and April in the Northern Hemisphere. These are especially powerful moments to support, guide, and amplify everything Spring is awakening within you.

Enjoy it.

What can happen if you ignore this self-care in Spring…

Like every cycle, one phase is connected to the next. How you observe, care for, and move through one phase directly influences the one that follows. This happens with the seasons and also within the menstrual cycle.

In the seasons, the way you experience Spring and Summer becomes a preparation for Autumn and Winter. Like breathing, one phase expands and creates movement, while the other integrates and organizes. When you try to rush, do everything at once, or don’t give direction to Spring’s energy, you begin to feel scattered.

This scattered energy may show up as fatigue, overwhelm, lack of focus, or even the feeling of doing a lot… but not really moving forward. It can also appear as anxiety, irritability, frustration, or difficulty sustaining what you’ve started. All of this also shows up in your body—and often, you may not even realize where it’s coming from.

In Ayurveda, the doshas increase and settle. The energy of one chakra can influence another. One season supports and nourishes—or can disrupt—the next. In the menstrual cycle, each phase also prepares the next. How you care for yourself throughout your cycle directly impacts how you feel during your menstruation. Everything is connected.

If this is your first time noticing all of this, it’s possible that some excess or confusion has already built up. And depending on how much has accumulated over time, you may need a few cycles to reorganize this energy—and that’s completely okay.

Every small step is already self-care. It’s already direction, clarity, and balance. Any phase, season, or moment is a good place to begin. Because ignoring this movement doesn’t make it disappear… it only causes it to spread and lose direction. Begin gently, little by little, in your own rhythm. 🙂

Deepen Your Self-Care in Spring

If you were able to feel how transformative your self-care can be in Spring and you’d like to go deeper into it—or receive support to move through it with more ease… I invite you to experience the Energetic Self-Care Journey.

Inside it, every month you’ll find a Self-Care Wave—a detailed guide that becomes your support to navigate, understand, observe, and care for yourself in alignment with the energy that is most present.

You’ll also find quizzes to help you understand your connection with the seasons, the balance of your doshas and chakras, and your current cycle phase. This brings clarity and direction so you know what to care for first, and how these energies may be influencing you.

From there, you can move into the in-depth guides and the gentle journals, where you’ll better understand your current moment, what may be influencing how you feel, and how to organize your routine, your environment, your nourishment, and your rituals.

Yes, there is a self-care list for each season and for each chakra, dosha, and menstrual phase… but it wasn’t created for you to follow blindly. Instead, you will learn to recognize what truly works for you and create your own list with the support of the Journey.

It offers understanding, inspiration, and support so you can understand yourself, care for yourself, and develop autonomy over your changes, emotions, phases, body, and mind—and learn to choose what you truly need in each moment.

It also includes guided meditation audios recorded by me to help you rebalance, calm your system, and reconnect with yourself and with nature. And a guided reflection and self-inquiry workbook for new beginnings!

My Wishes for You This Spring…

I wish that you allow yourself to open to the new with lightness (even if it brings a little bit of uncertainty… that’s part of it). That your first steps… gently turn into clearer paths. And that any challenge or intense emotion becomes a conscious impulse toward the movement you truly need.

May this Spring bring you lightness, movement, pleasure, direction, and renewal
like opening a window, feeling a soft breeze touching your face, the light filling the space… and realizing that something within you is also opening—gently, and with clarity.

I hope this post has supported you, and that the next ones continue to support you even more. Thinking about people feeling lighter, more connected to themselves, flowing… or simply moving gently at their own pace (even in the midst of chaos)… makes my heart feel warm and happy, and that is the reason Inmersivas exists.
